MentionNotifier FAQ:

Q: What is this?
A: It is a service to notify you by email when somebody has mentioned you in a tweet.

Q: Who do the emails come from?
A: MentionNotifier@engraph.com

Q: Are you going to do something shady with my email address?
A: Nope. I'll never sell or spam your email. To avoid other shady services, use + addressing from Gmail. Also, I completely remove your email from my database if you unsubscribe.

Q: Can I get a text message instead of an email?
A: Sure, just enter your email in this format and you will get a shorter, text only notification

Q: How quickly will I be notified of a new tweet?
A: Within a couple of seconds.

Q: How does it work?
A: It uses the Streaming API to check for your search string.

Q: Will it work with hashtags?
A: Yes. Put in the search string you want to be notified on (#KUbball) and the email address to send new tweets to.

Q: Can I have notifications go to multiple email addresses?
A: Yes. Just seperate the email address by a comma. Or you can set up multiple notifications for a single search.

Q: Can I login to see what I'm subscribed to?
A: On the notification email, click the "View and delete your subscriptions" link. It will take you to a page that looks like this.

Q: I don't see a "View and delete your subscriptions" link in my text message.
A: Yeah, I don't currently have a way to edit SMS subscriptions. Send me an @mention on twitter and let me know if you want your subscription edited or removed. I promise I won't take offense!

Q: Will it work if I get a mention from somebody that protects their tweets?
A: No, because protected tweets are not part of the public stream.

Q: Are you considering using OAuth so I can be notified of tweets from tweeple who protect their updates?
A: If enough people are interested in it. Trying to keep it simple at first.
